1,000. (2014-ongoing). Mixed media, dimensions vary.
This series in progress, originally envisioned as a collection of 1,000 pieces, results from a routinzed performance of collecting found materials and executing a standard form. My goal is to create 1,000 iterations of the form using found and fabricated elements from around Los Angeles. The fabric of each form is cut from the same pattern and sewn together using a combination of machine work and hand stitching. Each individual form measures 8 inches by 10 inches; the overall dimensions of the collection are constantly expanding. Each form has a textual description of the conditions of its creation on the reverse.

Ikat bonded to thin plastic. Seams sealed with masking tape. Filled with polyurethane foam. This was the first time I've done the background on the bias. I like the diagonal movement but bias didn't change anything structurally. 8" x 10"
